Get ready to follow our simple step-by-step tutorial to make your own spider web decorations! This Halloween craft for kids encourages fine motor skills practice and rewards you with very cute spider webs made with ice lolly sticks, string, and lots of imagination.
All you will need to complete this craft is;
- Ice lolly sticks
- String
- PVA glue or a hot glue gun
- Plastic spiders or spider stickers
- Scissors
Step One
Choose three ice lolly sticks. You could buy plain ones, or eat a few ice lollies and save them. Then paint them spooky colours, or buy coloured ones as we did.
Step Two
Glue together your three ice lolly sticks as shown below. You can use a hot glue gun for quick results if you have one if not PVA glue works perfectly well!
Step Three
Once they are dry cut yourself a long piece of string, choose any colour you want and allow little ones to be as creative as possible. Tie one end to the middle of your ice lolly sticks as shown below.
Step Four
Wrap your string around each ice lolly stick. Let children wrap it any way they choose. This is great practice for their fine motor skills. They’ll be so proud of their finished Halloween decoration.
Once you have finished wrapping, tie your string to the end of one of the ice lolly sticks and if you want to you can leave enough string to tail off. That way you can hang it up.
Step Five
Finally, add a spider to your web! You could use sticker spiders, plastic ones, or even make one from pom poms! The ideas are endless.
