These apple print pumpkins are a fun and creative way to celebrate the Autumn season.
This simple kid’s craft will keep your children busy creating their own works of art. Try our step-by-step tutorial with your own little ones.
All you will need to complete this craft is;
- Apples
- Paper or card
- Poster paint, or acrylic paint (orange and green)
- Black marker pen or crayon
- Knife
- Chopping board
1. Cut your apple
Carefully cut your apple in half, make sure for younger children this is done by an adult or with supervision. Try and keep it as flat as possible for better quality prints.
2. Paint your apple
Dip your apple into a tray of paint or paint straight onto your apple. Both are effective. Apply orange paint onto the apple. If your apple has a stem you could even paint the stem green!
Top Tip: Allow your children to get super creative and choose their favourite colours to make multicoloured or rainbow pumpkins.
3. Stamp the apple
Press your apple down firmly onto paper or card. If your apple has a stem, make sure that you also apply pressure on the stem so that it comes into contact with the paper or card.
4. Once dry, draw faces on your pumpkin
Draw a face on each pumpkin using a black marker pen or crayon. Here you can get super creative as well, encourage your children to give each one a different expression or you could draw numbers/letters on each one to practice counting and spelling.
Top Tip: If your apple didn’t have a stalk simply draw one on!
5. Decorate with them!
Use your apple print pumpkins to decorate your home for Halloween. You could cut each one out when dry and string them together to make a spooky garland/bunting. Or just make personalised Halloween themed posters and cards to send to friends and family.
